This 100g tub contains approx. 30-50 peeled cloves of black garlic, sealed with a ring pull can top, with a resealable lid. How does garlic become 'black' garlic?

Black garlic is created by heating whole bulbs or fresh garlic for around 30 days at temperatures around 140-150°c. The bulbs are then left to oxidise in a clean room for a further 60 days. While it does change the garlic's composition, it is not fermented, but aged, as the transformation does not involve microbial processes.

What does black garlic taste like?

Black garlic is not as strong in flavour as traditional garlic, and has a sweet, caramalised taste. Many have likened it to balsamic vinegar or sweet soy sauce.

How can black garlic be used?

Due to this sweetness, it can be eaten straight from the pack and does not leave garlic breath. It can also be used the same way traditional garlic is used.
